Luanda: The deputy Justino Feltro da Costa Pinto de Andrade was elected on Thursday as the new 4th Deputy-Speaker of the National Assembly, following a proposal put forth by the UNITA Parliamentary Bench.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Justino Pinto de Andrade secured his position with 173 votes in favor, with no votes against and no abstentions. He replaces Xavier Jaime Manuel, who lost his parliamentary mandate after joining a party other than the one that originally elected him.
The election took place during the parliament’s 6th Ordinary Meeting of the 3rd Legislative Session of the 5th Legislature.
