Justice Minister Defends Excellence in Services for Citizens

Luanda: The Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Marcy Lopes, defended the principle of excellence in the provision of services to citizens, emphasizing that mediocrity should not be tolerated. Speaking at the opening session of the two-day XVII Consultative Council of the sector, Lopes stressed the non-negotiable nature of quality in public services. According to Angola Press News Agency, Marcy Lopes pointed out the existence of varying interpretations and approaches among sector professionals, highlighting the necessity for an in-depth debate to achieve greater uniformity in service provision. The minister emphasized ongoing investments aimed at enhancing working conditions and public service offerings. This includes rehabilitating uninhabitable services and opening new units across several provinces, notably in Luanda, Bengo, Benguela, Huambo, Moxico Leste, Bié, and Lunda-Sul. Lopes also announced the upcoming inauguration of new services in Luanda, specifically in the Nova Vida, Cazenga, Shopping Popul ar, and Rocha Pinto areas. These will include registry offices, identification services, and notary offices, all designed to improve the organization and quality of public services. The XVII Advisory Council, themed "Modernity, Integrity, and Appreciation of Human Capital in Service of the Citizen," convenes sector leaders nationwide to discuss internal issues and align procedures. On its first day, attendees examined topics such as organizational status changes, activity reviews, and development prospects for the sector.
