The President of the Transition, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, guarantor of the independence of the judiciary, attended this Monday the solemn hearing marking the 2023-2024 return to school of the various jurisdictions of our country.
The First President of the Court of Cassation, Mazobé Jean KONDE expressed the recognition of all justice stakeholders to the Head of State. They interpret, ‘your presence as being a sign of the lively and sustained interest that you have in the judicial institution and those who embody it,’ he maintained.
Placed under the theme: ‘The judicial treatment of economic and financial offenses: state of play and perspectives’, this judicial start-up ceremony was an opportunity for actors from the different jurisdictions to revisit the efforts undertaken to combat economic crimes.
‘The creation and establishment of judicial centers specialized in the fight against economic and financial offenses and organized crime participate, alongside pre-existing jurisdictions and s
pecialized support structures, in the will of the highest authorities of this country to make the fight against this scourge their hobby horse,’ indicated the First President of the Court of Cassation.
The President of the Bar Association of Burkina Faso, Me Siaka NIAMBA, in his pleading, supported the need to extend the specialized judicial centers to the repression of economic and financial offenses and organized crime in the capitals of the regions in order to bring justice even closer to the litigant.
He also pleaded for greater integrity, probity, impartiality, incorruptibility and skills of justice actors for ‘justice, a vehicle of good governance and economic development’.
Me Siaka NIAMBA recalled that the firm and resolute commitment of the Head of State ‘to lead this valiant people to final victory is a priesthood, a legendary courage that the Bar of Burkina Faso salutes with respect and consideration’.
This judicial start saw the presence of the President of the Supreme Court of the Republic of
Mali, Terah FATOMA.
