Dori: Following the consultation framework with media stakeholders, organized Thursday in Dori by the regional directorate in charge of communication, journalists and communicators from the Sahel expressed their commitment to contributing to the popularization of the ideals of the Progressive Popular Revolution.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting took place around the theme: "Role and place of the media in promoting the ideals of the People's Progressive Revolution (RPP) underway in Burkina Faso." Participants welcomed the regional leadership's initiative, which provided them with a forum for debate on promoting the ideals of the RPP. They also discussed the challenges they face in their daily work, including a lack of material resources, security constraints, and ongoing training.
The regional director, Bernard Saba, stated that this initiative, which will be continued to strengthen the capacities of media actors, is part of the implementation of the structure's 2025 action plan. Mr. Saba indicated that the objective of the meeting is to enable participants to better understand the foundations and objectives of the People's Progressive Revolution. This is to give them the opportunity to add "ground to the ground of their knowledge in order to ensure better promotion of RPP in their media productions," he said.
In view of the quality of the discussions, he expressed satisfaction with the progress of the work and considered that the conclusions would help improve the quality of information and the services provided by Liptako journalists and communicators. The representative of the Higher Council for Communication (CSC), Mr. Oumar Dicko, known as Sofiane Bila, spoke as the main speaker. In addition to the central theme, he reiterated the essential principles related to responsible behavior on social media. According to him, journalists and information actors have a crucial role to play in ensuring healthy and civic use of digital platforms.
