The Organization for the Promotion of Education and Research (OPER) composed of former students, offered on Thursday, food analysis equipment to the Laboratory of Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Technology Food and Nutrition (LABIOTAN) of Joseph Ki-Zerbo University.
“We have received laboratory analysis equipment from our former students from the diaspora, some of whom are living in Canada and the USA,” said the director of the Laboratory of Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Food Technology and Nutrition (LABIOTAN) of the Joseph Ki-Zerbo University, Pr Mamoudou Dicko.
According to him, these materials will make it possible to analyze food, all that is biological substance, to control the quality and to make the transformation.

Pr Dicko was speaking on Thursday June 8, 2023 in Ouagadougou, during a ceremony for the handing over of laboratory equipment to LABIOTAN of Joseph Ki-Zerbo University by an independent organization made up of former students of the said university.
“These are high-level equipment. When we assess their value, it is between 70 and 80 million FCFA,” he said. The director of LABIOTAN was delighted with the gesture of these former students.
HE TRANSLATED ON BEHALF OF THE AUTHORITIES OF THE JOSEPH KI-ZERBO UNIVERSITY, ALL HIS GRATITUDE TO THE OPER. HE THEN INVITED OTHER FORMER STUDENTS TO FOLLOW IN THEIR FOOTSTEPS.
For his part, the representative of the OPER in Burkina, Nicodème Beremwidougou indicated that their structure was created to support education and research.

In his opinion, “it is quality education and research that can enable the development of a country”.
He maintained that the members of the organization are all from education and know the realities of education and research in Burkina Faso.
“We hope that the materials can really be used to achieve the objectives. We also hope that these materials can be in very good condition to allow research in our laboratories,” he concluded.
