Jordanian Industries Seek Growth in Chinese Market Through Import Expo.

BEIJING: Jordanian industrial leaders attending the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) expressed optimism about the opportunities that China’s high-level opening-up offers for bolstering trade exchanges and enhancing consumer welfare across borders.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Alaa Abu Khazneh, general manager of Gulf Technical Industrial Establishment and a board member of the Jordan Chamber of Industry, highlighted the significance of the Chinese market. He mentioned that his company, which imports equipment and devices from China, is participating in the CIIE for the first time, hoping to establish a foothold for Jordanian products in China.

The expo is seen as a gateway not only to China but also to its neighboring markets, with Abu Khazneh looking forward to future participations. Fadi Al Atrash, representing the pharmaceutical sector in the Jordan Chamber of Industry, also attended the expo for the first time. He emphasized the value of displaying products and exploring the Chinese mark
et, noting that his company frequently sources raw materials from Shenzhen.

The Jordan Chamber of Industry underscores the industrial sector’s pivotal role in the Jordanian economy, contributing nearly a quarter of the national GDP. Nael Husami, CEO of the Amman Chamber of Industry, reiterated Jordanian products’ global reach, being exported to about 140 countries. He noted that China’s openness would enhance trade exchanges and benefit consumers both in China and abroad.

Husami stressed the importance of fostering trade cooperation between Jordan, other Arab communities, and China, viewing the CIIE as a vital opportunity to introduce Jordanian products to Chinese consumers and boost exports to China.
