Luanda: Angolan Head of State Joo Louren§o congratulated Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on his re-election as President of the Republic of Uganda. In his message, Joo Louren§o emphasized the importance of Museveni's leadership in ensuring Uganda's role in promoting peace, stability, security, and integration at both regional and continental levels.
According to Angola Press News Agency, official results confirmed Yoweri Museveni's victory in the presidential elections held on Thursday (15), securing another five-year term with 71.65% of the vote. President Joo Louren§o expressed his hope for continued constructive dialogue between Luanda and Kampala, aimed at further strengthening the friendship and cooperation ties between Angola and Uganda.
The two nations engage in high-level discussions within the Great Lakes Region, focusing on peace, stability, and security. Additionally, Angola and Uganda collaborate in regional and international forums such as the African Union and the United Nations. They also facilitate exchanges of visits by various delegations to bolster cooperation in areas including security, infrastructure, and trade.
