Jealousy-Driven Murder in Namibe: Husband Arrested After Stabbing Wife to Death.

Namibe: The Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) in southern Namibe province has apprehended a 33-year-old Angolan national accused of fatally stabbing his wife out of jealousy. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, highlighting issues of domestic violence and the tragic consequences that can arise from unchecked emotions.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the SIC spokesperson, José Lolina, disclosed that the alleged murder occurred on a Wednesday evening around 9pm. Suspicion of infidelity reportedly drove the accused to follow his wife after she left their house. It was during this confrontation that he allegedly stabbed her five times in the chest before hiding her body in a hut. The grim discovery was made the following Thursday afternoon after family members reported her missing. The accused was subsequently captured on Saturday in Huíla province, where he had fled.

With collaboration from law enforcement in Huíla, the suspect was quickly transferred back to Namibe. He is n
ow set to be presented to the Public Prosecutor’s Office and a judge for further legal proceedings. The spokesperson emphasized the swift cooperation between provincial authorities that led to the arrest.

In a separate incident, SIC also reported another arrest involving a fatal stabbing. On Sunday, a citizen was detained after allegedly killing his work colleague over a dispute about forgotten vegetable oil while fishing. The argument escalated, resulting in the accused stabbing his colleague in the forehead. Despite being rushed to a local health unit and later to Ngola Kimbanda Provincial Hospital, the victim succumbed to his injuries.

Furthermore, the SIC has intensified its operations, leading to the arrest of eight individuals suspected of involvement in a series of thefts, including household appliances, cell phones, and butane gas cylinders. The recent arrests underscore SIC’s commitment to maintaining public safety and addressing criminal activities in the region.
