Japanese Ambassador Concludes Mission in Burkina Faso, Meets with Head of State

Ouagadougou — In a ceremonial farewell, Ambassador Masaaki Kato of Japan paid a visit to Captain Ibrahim Traoré, the President of the Transition and Head of State of Burkina Faso, this Friday morning.

According to a new release by Burkina Information Agency, the meeting served as a platform to express gratitude for the support he received during his diplomatic mission, which lasted for three years and three months.

During the meeting, Ambassador Kato highlighted the quality and durability of the diplomatic relationship between Japan and Burkina Faso. He also affirmed Japan’s commitment to stand by Burkina Faso in its ongoing battle against terrorism and efforts to reclaim national territory.

The areas of cooperation between the two countries primarily focus on basic education, agriculture, environment, health, drinking water, and sanitation. According to Ambassador Kato, Japan will continue to collaborate with Burkina Faso in these sectors, affirming the solidarity between the two nations.
