JAM Burkina Association Provides Aid to Displaced Persons in Laye

LAYE, BURKINA FASO — The JAM Burkina Association, in collaboration with its partners, delivered essential supplies including food and clothing to internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Laye, located in the Kourwéogo province, on Saturday, July 26, 2024. This humanitarian effort aims to support those affected by ongoing security issues in the region.

According to Burkina Information Agency, president of the association, the initiative was driven by a commitment to uphold the dignity of displaced individuals despite their challenging circumstances. The donated items included bags of corn, rice, and various clothing for men, women, and children. The event saw the participation of local officials and representatives from social services.

The President of the special delegation of Laye, Saïdou Milogo, expressed gratitude towards the JAM Burkina Association for their generosity, noting the significant relief it brings to the affected families. Saïdou Sigué, a representative of the IDPs, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the lack of support received over the past six months and the critical nature of such donations.

The JAM Burkina Association has been active in humanitarian efforts since its inception in 2020, including providing agricultural support to displaced communities, further exemplifying its ongoing commitment to aiding vulnerable populations in Burkina Faso.
