Jacky Rapon, Thierry Cham, and Amity Meria to Host Zouk Love Concert in Ouagadougou

Ouagadougou: Artists Jacky Rapon, Thierry Cham, and Amity Meria, in collaboration with the Tam-Tam Production group, held a press conference in Ouagadougou on Wednesday to announce the "Zouk Love Live Evening - Intimate" concert, set for December 6 at the Sopatel Silmande Hotel. The event aims to provide a musical reunion where past and present generations can relive the highlights of Zouk Love.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the concert will feature three performances, accompanied by a live orchestra and an immersive stage design intended to plunge the audience back into the authentic world of the genre. Jacky Rapon emphasized that the evening is intended to be more than just a concert, describing it as "an emotional experience, a journey through time, a bridge between generations and a vibrant tribute to three voices that have marked the history of Zouk Love."

Thierry Cham expressed his excitement about returning to Burkina Faso, stating, "Coming to sing in Burkina Faso is a blessing. The celebration will be wonderful, it will be a memorable moment and those who are absent will be wrong." Amity Meria shared her enthusiasm about collaborating with the two artists, noting, "It is a great joy for me to be by their side. I thank the organizing committee and I can assure you that the evening will be magnificent."

Tickets for the event are available at the Sopatel Silmande Hotel, the 3TV television station, and other outlets. Organizers have also mentioned that companies can reserve tables for their employees to foster team spirit.

As a reminder, Jacky Rapon, originally from Martinique, is a major figure in Zouk Love, who rose to prominence in the 1990s and 2000s with hit songs such as Prends ton temps. Thierry Cham, a singer from Guadeloupe, is known as one of the greatest male voices in the genre, distinguished by hits like Ocean. Amity Meria, an icon of Burkinabe music, is celebrated for her powerful voice and her style blending tradition and modernity, with hits such as La Paix.
