Ivory Coast: $11 million to strengthen the meat sector


To strengthen the meat sector, Côte d’Ivoire, which imports more than half of its consumption needs, will launch the Project to build slaughterhouse complexes and livestock markets for a total amount of 6.8 billion CFA francs or $11 million. According to official data, the production of meat and edible offal in Côte d’Ivoire covers approximately 45% of the country’s consumption needs. In 2021, 168,000 tonnes of meat and edible offal were imported for a value of $123.3 million.
