Luanda: The Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Doreen Bogdan-Martin, highlighted on Thursday (11) in Luanda the crucial role of digital technologies during the 6th Edition of ANGOTIC 2026. According to Angola Press News Agency, Bogdan-Martin addressed the event via Zoom, emphasizing how digital technologies, connectivity, and skills are pivotal in shaping a promising digital future globally. She pointed out that the theme for ANGOTIC 2026, "On the Road to Digital Transformation," signifies the progressive journey Angola is undertaking. Bogdan-Martin noted that the dialogue around digital advancements is profoundly inspiring. She expressed that when considering Angola, the concepts of progress and potential are prominent. She observed an increased engagement of young Angolans in online activities, reflecting the nation's growing digital involvement. Additionally, she acknowledged Angola's significant progress and potential within the digital sector, particularly with the development of Ango-SAT 2. The Angola International Forum on Information and Communication Technologies (ANGOTIC) is a significant platform for sharing knowledge, showcasing innovations, and fostering digital entrepreneurship. It aims to connect key stakeholders in the technological ecosystem both nationally and internationally. The 6th edition of ANGOTIC, with its theme "On the Road to Digital Transformation," anticipates drawing around 20,000 visitors, doubling the attendance from the previous edition.
