Israel’s Defense Minister Rules Out Ceasefire in Lebanon.

BEIRUT: Israel's Defense Minister Israel Katz announced on Tuesday on X that there will be no pause in military operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon. Katz emphasized that Israel will continue its offensive "with full force" and dismissed any possibility of a ceasefire at this stage. According to Namibia Press Agency, Katz, who recently took office, articulated that any ceasefire agreement would be unacceptable if it restricts Israel's ability to target Hezbollah in Lebanon. He highlighted the war's objectives, which include disarming Hezbollah, pushing them beyond the Litani River, and ensuring the safe return of residents to northern Israel. The conflict in the region intensified following cross-border hostilities that began last October after Hamas attacked Israeli communities. The situation escalated in late September when Israel launched a large-scale ground offensive in Lebanon, focusing primarily on southern Lebanon, Beirut's southern suburb, and the Bekaa Valley.
