Israeli Strikes in Southern Lebanon Injure Thirteen

Nabatieh – Late Friday night, an Israeli military operation targeted a three-story building north of Nabatieh in southern Lebanon, resulting in injuries to 13 individuals, according to Lebanese military sources.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the Israeli army escalated its operations on Saturday, executing seven airstrikes across five villages and towns and shelling another seven with approximately 35 shells in southern Lebanon. In retaliation, Hezbollah launched attacks on several Israeli military headquarters and sites using drones and missiles. Lebanese military sources also reported that approximately 70 Katyusha rockets and several drones were fired from Lebanon toward northern Israel.

This surge in violence follows heightened tensions along the Lebanon-Israel border, which escalated on October 8, 2023, after Hezbollah launched a barrage of rockets toward Israel. This act was in solidarity with Hamas’ previous day’s attack on Israel. In response, Israel retaliated with heavy artillery fire aimed at southeastern Lebanon.
