Israeli Military Strikes Injure 13 in Southern Lebanon Amid Escalating Tensions

Nabatieh—Late Friday night, an Israeli military operation targeted a three-story building north of Nabatieh in southern Lebanon, resulting in injuries to 13 individuals.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Lebanese military sources detailed that on Saturday, the Israeli army escalated its operations, conducting seven airstrikes across five villages and towns and shelling another seven with approximately 35 shells in the region. The violent exchange continued as Hezbollah retaliated by targeting several Israeli military headquarters and sites using drones and missiles.

The sources also noted that Lebanese army positions observed the launch of around 70 Katyusha rockets and several drones from Lebanon toward northern Israel. The conflict along the Lebanon-Israel border intensified on October 8, 2023, following a rocket barrage from the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah, which was a show of solidarity with Hamas’ previous attacks on Israel. In response, Israel executed heavy artillery strikes towards southeastern Lebanon.
