Iranian President Visits Armenia for Bilateral Cooperation Talks

Yerevan: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian left Tehran on Monday for a two-day visit to Armenia, marking the first leg of a trip that will also include Belarus, as announced by his office. He is accompanied by several cabinet members on this official tour.

According to Namibia Press Agency, in Yerevan, Pezeshkian is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and co-chair a meeting of senior delegations from both countries aimed at expanding bilateral ties. The two sides are anticipated to sign a series of cooperation agreements. Additionally, Pezeshkian is set to meet with Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan.

Before departing, Pezeshkian emphasized that promoting relations with neighboring and like-minded states is a top priority for Iran. He noted that the memorandums of understanding and agreements expected to be signed during the trip would help create “favourable economic and social grounds” for Iran.
