IPELCE/JEPPC 2026: Educational Stakeholders Promote Local Cuisine and Economic Patriotism

Ipelce: The Ipelce Basic Education District (CEB) organized a local food tasting day on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. This initiative is part of the call made by the President of Burkina Faso during the National Days of Patriotic Engagement and Civic Participation (JEPPC) 2026.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Basic Education District (CEB) of Ipelce in the province of Baz¨ga, in the Nazinon region, organized the 2nd edition of the Local Food Tasting Day, under the theme of the national days of patriotic commitment and citizen participation: "Food sovereignty and economic patriotism: together, let us cultivate our dignity through local production and consumption."

This day, held under the chairmanship of the President of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Ipelce, N. Emilienne Kiemtore/Bonkoungou, lived up to all its promises in terms of promoting local dishes and enhancing endogenous know-how. During the official ceremony, the chief of Ipelce, Naaba Sonre, accompanied by about ten traditional chiefs, expressed his satisfaction and offered blessings to the organizers. He praised an initiative that highlights the richness of the local culinary heritage and the importance of preserving ancestral values.

The ceremony began with a series of cultural performances by primary school students. Through traditional dance performances, storytelling, and parades in traditional attire, they brilliantly demonstrated their commitment to national cultural values. Speaking next, the head of the CEB, Prosper Nonguierma, read the message from the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, at the launch of the first phase of the JEPPC 2026.

The day's patron, Pastor Idrissa Guigma, accompanied by his team, also made his presence felt by presenting a stand of local food, alongside the schools and various services represented. Beyond its festive nature, this activity provided a genuine framework for raising awareness of local consumption and civic engagement, while strengthening social cohesion within the community.
