According to Burkina Information Agency, the President of the special delegation of the municipality of Ipelce, Emeline Kiemtore/Bonkoungou, stated that this day is specifically aimed at presenting the results of the 2023 and 2024 financial years, the progress of the 2025 financial year projects and the major strategic directions for 2026. This citizen-led initiative brought together key stakeholders, residents, and residents of the municipality.

The accountability day, which served as a forum for dialogue between citizens and municipal officials, allowed for an evaluation of the management of the 2023, 2024, and 2025 budgets. The proceedings included a detailed presentation of the municipal report for the three-year period, followed by the presentation of certificates of recognition to local stakeholders.

This meeting also aimed to highlight best practices and citizen initiatives from stakeholders involved in local development. The panel discussion saw active participation, with frank contributions on the challenges and opportunities of development.

For Kiemtore/Bonkoungou, “a strong municipality is built on transparency, dialogue, and citizen participation.” “Accountability allows us to report on what has been done, to explain what could not be explained, and above all, to listen in order to better guide municipal action,” she explained.

This approach has helped to strengthen trust between municipal authorities and the population, while providing a framework for citizens to formulate recommendations and expectations for the years to come. The day concluded with collective commitments to more inclusive, transparent, and results-oriented local governance for sustainable development.

Through this initiative, the municipality of Ipelce aims to make citizens key players in local development.
