Ioba Secretary General Calls for Action Against Malaria by Destroying Mosquito Breeding Sites

Dano — During a national flag-raising ceremony in Dano on Monday, André Lankoandé, the Secretary General of Ioba province, emphasized the importance of community involvement in eradicating mosquito breeding sites to combat malaria. The ceremony, held at the Dano High Commission, saw participation from local government officials and security forces.

According to Burkina Information Agency, who presided over the ceremony, the ongoing efforts to prevent malaria through a chemo-prevention campaign have made significant progress in 2024. He highlighted the Ministry of Health’s guidelines that call for the destruction of all mosquito larval breeding sites within residential areas as a crucial step in strengthening the fight against this disease.

Lankoandé also took the opportunity to commend the performance of educational stakeholders in the province, noting this year’s results in the BEPC (44.27%) and CEP (80.16%) exams. He extended his gratitude to the defense and security forces and health workers for their significant roles in managing the logistics of school examinations across Ioba.

As the ceremony concluded, the Secretary General expressed his best wishes for a successful agricultural season to all local producers, reinforcing the community’s collective responsibility in improving public health and education.
