Ouagadougou – Investment Faso New (IFN) has declared its intention to invest a substantial sum, ranging from 100 million to over a billion U.S. dollars, to relaunch the national airline, Air Burkina, which has recently been inactive.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the president of IFN, the firm has secured a financial partner willing to invest a significant amount to help restart Air Burkina’s operations. “We came to inform the Prime Minister (Me Apollinaire Kyelem de Tambèla) that we have a financial partner ready to support us to achieve our ambitions. It is regrettable that Air Burkina has disappeared from our radars for some time. As patriots, we are committed to reviving Air Burkina,” Baro stated during a meeting on Monday.
The announcement comes at a time when the future of Air Burkina has been uncertain. The Prime Minister has acknowledged receiving several proposals for the airline’s revival and indicated that a comprehensive study will be conducted to select the most favorable option for Burkina Faso.
