Investissements to Fort Impact Pour la Paix: Le Systeme des Nations Unies Accompagne le Burkina Faso


Ouagadougou: The Secretary General of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Vieux Abdoul Rachid SOULAMA, chaired the opening ceremony of the workshop focused on the theme “Infrastructure for Peacebuilding.” This gathering seeks to enhance the understanding and execution of the Burkinabe government’s new strategic directions in development planning.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the workshop brings together partners of the Peacebuilding Fund in Burkina Faso, aiming to reflect on the government’s commitment to large-scale projects that improve the population’s living conditions. The government’s current strategy emphasizes investments that have a significant positive impact on society.



The Resident Coordinator of the United Nations System in Burkina Faso, Carol Flore SMERECZNIAK, highlighted that the United Nations system fully supports the Burkinabe Government’s focus on high-impact peacebuilding investments. This includes not only technical and material support but also strengthening a systemic approach through investments in inclusive and resilient social infrastructure to promote peace.



UNOPS, the United Nations agency specializing in infrastructure, collaborates with other entities to assist Burkina Faso in its development efforts. The three-day workshop will emphasize peacebuilding projects while adhering to United Nations guidelines.
