Investigation Into 19 People Accused of Moscow’s Crocus Attack Completed

Moscow: Russia's Investigative Committee has completed investigation into 19 people accused of the 2024 terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall concert hall near Moscow, they are reviewing the materials, after which the case will be submitted to court, Russian Investigative Committee spokeswoman Svetlana Petrenko told reporters on Saturday.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the Main Investigative Department of the Russian Investigative Committee has worked in cooperation with the Federal Security Service and the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs as part of the criminal case on the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall. The perpetrators of the terrorist attack and other accomplices were identified and detained swiftly. Investigative actions have been completed with 19 people accused of committing terrorist crimes, who are in custody and continue to familiarize themselves with the case materials. A number of other defendants have been put on the wanted list, Petrenko stated.

On March 22, 2024, several armed men broke into the Crocus City Hall, opened fire from automatic weapons at people in the building, and set the auditorium on fire. The attack resulted in 145 fatalities and over 500 injuries. The four main suspects in the case, all Tajik nationals, attempted to flee the scene in a car but were detained and charged with terrorism.

The terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall was planned and organized by the special services of an "unfriendly state" to destabilize the situation in Russia. Members of an international terrorist organization were involved in implementing the attack, Petrenko added.

Six Central Asian citizens were directly involved in organizing the terrorist attack. They have been arrested in absentia and placed on the wanted list, according to the spokeswoman.
