Addis Ababa: Invest in Ethiopia 2025: High-Level Business Forum will massively promote Ethiopia’s untapped investment opportunities, Commissioner of Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC) Zeleke Temesgen said. The Invest Ethiopia 2025: High-Level Business Forum, will be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from May 12-13, 2025, co-organized by key government institutions and development partners.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, the forum is expected to bring together over 700 participants, including global investors, business leaders, policymakers, and entrepreneurs. Briefing the media in connection with the upcoming forum, Commissioner Zeleke Temesgen highlighted the forum’s role in demonstrating the government’s commitment to creating a conducive business environment, emphasizing the priority given to the private sector and the promotion of the nation’s untapped investment opportunities.
Zeleke Temesgen expressed enthusiasm in launching the Invest in Ethiopia 2025: High-Level Business Forum, aiming to showcase the vast untapped investment potential of Ethiopia. The forum will provide a unique opportunity for investors to understand the country’s business climate, explore opportunities, and connect with local entrepreneurs and government officials.
State Minister of Finance Semereta Sewasew underscored the forum’s importance in promoting ongoing comprehensive economic reforms for both foreign and local investors. She mentioned that the forum targets the promotion of various economic reforms underway in Ethiopia, including those in the financial sector, trade, and investment.
Further, Semereta Sewasew pointed out amendments in legal frameworks aimed at creating a favorable business climate and transforming Ethiopia’s economy. She emphasized the significant role of development partners and other stakeholders in collaboratively working with the government of Ethiopia.
The forum will serve as a platform for participants to learn about Ethiopia’s business climate, investment opportunities, and government policies in investment and economic growth. It coincides with Ethiopia’s macro-economic reforms, including financial sector liberalization, easing of foreign exchange restrictions, opening of key sectors, and improvement of administrative and governance conditions.
The Invest in Ethiopia-High-Level Business Forum aims to support the government’s efforts in fostering private sector-led investment by showcasing new reforms, addressing existing challenges, and promoting investment opportunities for both foreign and domestic investors.
