Innovations in Social Security Law for Public Employees Unveiled to Stakeholders.

Sahel: The second session of the regional consultation framework (CCR) of the Sahel took place in Dori, focusing on the new innovations in the social security law for public employees. During this session, stakeholders were informed about the significant updates to the social security system for public officials in Burkina Faso.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the regional director in charge of the economy, Mr. Harouna Kaboré, explained the major innovations of Law No. 003-2021/AN, which was enacted on April 1, 2021. This law pertains to the social security system applicable to public officials of the State in Burkina Faso. Mr. Kaboré highlighted the importance of these changes to the participants, emphasizing the potential impact on public employees.

The session also provided a platform to review various community, recovery, and stabilization projects for the Sahel, known as PCRSS. Mr. Kaboré shared insights into these projects, which aim to bolster regional development and stability. Additionally
, he discussed the progress of a project focused on preventing radicalization and violent extremism by enhancing the resilience of local communities in the Sahel and Northern regions. This initiative is being implemented by the Union Fraternelles des Croyants (UFC) of Dori.

The governor of the region, Lieutenant-Colonel Fabien Rodolphe Sorgho, underscored the importance of the meeting in strengthening collaboration among development actors. He urged the statutory members of the CCR to engage actively in the consultation process to ensure the harmonization of various interventions across the region.
