ZINIARÉ — An inmate from the Ziniaré civil prison has successfully obtained his baccalaureate, achieving a pass in the first round with a score of 11.54 out of 20, the prison administration announced via Facebook on Monday.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the 21-year-old final year student, detained since January 11, 2024, was granted special permission by judicial and administrative bodies to sit for his exams. The prison administration supported his academic efforts, reflecting a commitment to the social reintegration of prisoners within Burkina Faso's penitentiary system. The administration highlighted this achievement as evidence that imprisonment does not signify the end of opportunities for inmates.
