Infrastructures: 133.6 km de Routes Bitumes Mouhoun, Sud Sues et des-Hauts

Ouagadougou: The Director General of Transport Infrastructure, Moumouni ILBOUDO, conducted an inspection mission from May 26 to 30, 2025, to assess the ongoing construction sites in the Boucle du Mouhoun, Southwest, and Hauts-Bassins regions. The goal of this visit was to review the progress of the work, identify any obstacles, and ensure the implementation of precautionary measures for the rainy season following ministerial guidelines.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the inspection covered several key construction sites including regional road 11 Poura Carrefour-Kolinkar, national road 12 PS-Dano-Di©bougou, national road 11 Gaoua-Bati©, national road 8 Bobo-Orodara-Mali border, regional road 36 Dand©-Kourouma, as well as roads in Bobo-Dioulasso. Although challenges persist, the results of the inspections are encouraging. The Director General noted that while progress varied across projects, the strategy of undertaking roadworks in series is beginning to yield positive results.

To date, 133.6 kilometers of roads have been surfaced with bituminous material across the various projects underway. This achievement is attributed to local control measures implemented by the infrastructure department and technical teams. The ongoing progress signifies a positive momentum towards enhancing the national road network despite the inherent challenges in infrastructure management.

In anticipation of the rainy season, specific actions have been defined in collaboration with construction companies and inspection teams to minimize inconvenience for road users and ensure the continuity of construction efforts.
