Jakarta: Indonesia’s Trade Ministry has projected significant growth in the nation’s export sector, anticipating an increase of up to 9.6 percent by 2029. This forecast is attributed to rising global trade, as confirmed by a ministry official on Tuesday.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Fajarini Puntodewi, head of the Trade Policy Agency at the Indonesian Trade Ministry, highlighted that exports to countries with which Indonesia has free trade agreements have been on an upward trajectory. This trend is expected to persist, boosting the country’s overall export performance. Puntodewi stated, “The export target is between 7 percent and 9.6 percent by the end of 2029.”

Data from the Trade Ministry reveals that Indonesia’s cumulative exports reached 192.85 billion U.S. dollars by September this year, showing a year-on-year increase of 0.32 percent. Puntodewi expressed optimism about achieving the 2029 target, citing ongoing growth in Indonesian exports.
