Inauguration of Solar-Powered Classrooms Marks Educational Progress in Daguintoèga.

Ganzourgou: The High Commissioner of Ganzourgou Province, Ms. Aminata Sorgho/Gouba, presided over the inauguration of a new building with three solar-powered classrooms at the Daguintoèga primary school in Zorgho. This event took place on Saturday, November 9, 2024. According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was attended by a delegation from the Association "Zinado 2000," which financed the project, and was sponsored by the Song-Koglog Naaba of Daguintoèga, Augustin Sakandé. The new infrastructure, funded by Zinado 2000 and its partners, cost over 27 million CFA francs and significantly enhances the school's capacity by expanding from three to six classrooms. This development underscores the commitment of partners to the educational advancement in Zorgho and specifically in Daguintoèga. The ceremony included expressions of gratitude from the representative of the Chief of Daguintoèga, who highlighted the community's appreciation towards those who contributed to this achievement. Naaba Yemdé of Bo ugré, the first vice-president of Zorgho's special communal delegation, commended Zinado 2000 for their solidarity and responsibility, emphasizing their dedication despite the region's insecurity. Édouard Balcoulga, the former mayor of Zorgho, was honored for forging strong ties between Zinado 2000 and the commune. His contributions have facilitated numerous projects, fostering trust and collaboration. In an emotional address, Balcoulga called for a minute of silence for the late members of Zinado 2000, particularly those from Verrières-le-Buisson, who played crucial roles in the region's development. Augustin Sakandé, the event's patron, emphasized education's vital role in development, noting that the school has produced several graduates, including professionals like gendarmes and teachers. He urged parents to keep their children in school, discouraging them from leaving for gold mining opportunities. Jean Baptiste Ouangré, the director of Daguintoèga school, highlighted that the new classrooms have nor malized the school's operations, now accommodating 239 students, including 124 girls. He thanked the Zinado 2000 association and called for continued parental involvement to boost academic performance. Alain Octau, president of Zinado 2000, recounted the association's history of supporting Zorgho since 2000, having funded various infrastructure projects and community initiatives. The association, comprising over 200 volunteers, raises funds through events in France to support its activities in Burkina Faso. Ms. Aminata Sorgho/Gouba expressed gratitude on behalf of regional and national authorities to Zinado 2000, noting the alignment of this project with governmental objectives to make educational resources more accessible. She called on the community to maintain the facilities and promote children's education. The ceremony was a proud moment for Daguintoèga, with Nobila Célestine Zagré/Zoungrana, the provincial director of primary education, presenting a Certificate of Recognition to the association's pre sident for their significant contributions to education in Ganzourgou.
