Inauguration Ceremony of Thomas Sankara Mausoleum Welcomes Chadian Prime Minister

Ouagadougou: Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ou©draogo welcomed his Chadian counterpart, Allah-Maye Halina, to Ouagadougou on Saturday, May 17, 2025. He was expected in the capital to take part in the inauguration ceremony of the mausoleum of “President Thomas Sankara and his twelve companions.”

According to Burkina Information Agency, Allah-Maye Halina will join other dignitaries for the inauguration of the mausoleum scheduled for 3 p.m. at the Thomas Sankara Memorial. The event is marked by the attendance of notable personalities, underscoring the legacy of Captain Isidore No«l Thomas Sankara, known for his contributions to Pan-Africanism and his role in the Burkinabe Revolution.

The day before the ceremony, Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko also arrived in Ouagadougou to participate in the event. The presence of these African leaders highlights the enduring influence of Thomas Sankara across the continent.
