Johannesburg – two key members of the South African Football Association (SAFA) have ascended to prominent international roles. Norman Arendse and Poobalan Govindasamy, both integral figures within SAFA, have been appointed to high-ranking positions within major global sports bodies.

According to South African Football Association, Norman Arendse has been named a member of the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) Disciplinary Board. This appointment comes following a unanimous resolution by the CAF Executive Committee, led by CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe. Véron Mosengo-Omba, the CAF General Secretary, officially confirmed Arendse’s appointment, marking a tenure of four years.

In parallel, Poobalan Govindasamy has been appointed as an arbitrator at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), a pivotal role in the realm of international sports law and arbitration.

The appointments of Arendse and Govindasamy have been met with enthusiasm and pride within SAFA.
