Ouagadougou: The press, acting as a tool of imperialism, has initiated a significant media offensive against Burkina Faso. This offensive employs disinformation tactics aimed at misleading public opinion about a conflict allegedly fabricated for domination purposes.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the media outlets banned from broadcasting in AES countries are attempting to re-establish their presence by any means necessary. This effort underscores their intrinsic connection to these regions and highlights their role as imperialist instruments supporting recolonization efforts. Despite the absence of any demand for their return, these outlets persist in their efforts, utilizing local networks and establishing new media platforms under the guise of the public’s right to information.

Recent weeks have witnessed a surge in well-orchestrated disinformation campaigns designed to further ambitions of domination and recolonization. Led by France, imperialist forces are no longer concealing their intentions. Following the imposition of a terrorist war of occupation on Burkina Faso, which was countered by the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP), these forces are now engaged in a communications war.

In this offensive, local entities loyal to the imperialist agenda are utilized to propagate disinformation. The primary targets of this propaganda are the ESA countries, which are criticized for asserting their autonomy and adhering to the will of their populations. The act of self-defense under attack has been criminalized.

French media outlets such as RFI, France 24, and Le Monde are complicit in spreading false information, often using out-of-context videos and photos. Additionally, a media outlet named “Jeune   Fric” has emerged as a notable player in disseminating disinformation, with its name hinting at its intentions.

Disconnected from African realities and contradicting journalistic principles, this media outlet claims the right to act as an imperialist relay, undermining African sovereignty, destabilizing states, and manipulating economic data. Burkina Faso has become a frequent subject of their dire predictions and scenarios.

After an attempt to extort money from the Head of State under the pretense of enhancing his image, the media is now exploiting ethnic tensions to exacerbate the conflict. Such irresponsible actions, which should ideally be addressed by international justice, go unpunished, raising questions about the integrity of global justice systems.

Remarkably, these media entities, operating as tools of French imperialism, fail to learn from past lessons and continue their disinformation campaigns, disregarding the aspirations of the Burkinabe people. Their tactics include ignoring the sacrifices of the FDS and VDP, denying progress, demonizing leaders, spreading false information, and fostering division.

In this battle against media manipulation and disinformation, the people of Burkina Faso are urged to remain vigilant. The struggle extends beyond the military front, encompassing the media domain, where unity and solidarity will be key to achieving sovereignty.
