Dano: The imam of the great mosque of Dano, El Adj Sabdina Ciss©, has called for understanding between the Burkinabe authorities during the Eid al-Fitr celebrations, which marked the end of Ramadan on Monday, March 31.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Muslim community of Dano, along with others in Burkina Faso, celebrated Eid al-Fitr with prayers beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Great Mosque of Dano. Imam Sabdina Ciss© led the prayers with the Muslim faithful and was accompanied by the High Commissioner of the Ioba province, Innocents Ouattara, and his delegation.
At the conclusion of the celebration, Imam Ciss© offered prayers and blessings, emphasizing the importance of understanding among Burkinabe authorities for the country’s development. He also prayed for unity among the various Muslim associations in the Ioba province. El Adj Sabdina Ciss© expressed gratitude towards the provincial authorities and the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) for ensuring a peaceful prayer session.
Denis Zanr©, the prefect and president of the special delegation (PDS) of the Dano commune, encouraged the Muslim faithful to pray for a tolerant and socially cohesive Burkina Faso where everyone can practice their faith freely. Furthermore, Olivier Som©, the representative of the Dano canton chief, urged Muslims to foster love and unity among Dano’s inhabitants for the overall well-being of the population.
High Commissioner Innocents Ouattara extended his gratitude to Imam Ciss© and the Muslim community for their prayers and blessings, which he believes are vital for the return of peace to Faso. He expressed his best wishes for Eid al-Fitr and asked the community to remember the vulnerable, sick, and internally displaced persons (IDPs) during the festive period by showing solidarity and inclusion.
In Dano, the Muslim community gathered for prayers at three locations: the Grand Mosque Square, the courtyard of Moutori A Primary School, and the provincial stadium grounds.
