Illassa Dianda Assumes Leadership of Pô’s Special Delegation in Nahouri


PO, Nahouri – Illassa Dianda was officially installed as the prefect of the department of Pô and concurrently as the president of the special delegation of the Commune of Pô on Friday, February 9, 2024. The ceremony, attended by a host of dignitaries including family, friends, and provincial service heads, marked the beginning of Dianda’s tenure in these dual roles.



According to Burkina Information Agency, Sanfiénalé Joseph Sirima, who presided over the installation, Dianda’s appointment by the Council of Ministers occurred on January 24, 2024. The event saw participation from administrative authorities, collaborators, and acquaintances, signifying the importance of this transition.



Marc Salazar Gomgnimbou, a representative of the Pô town hall staff, lauded the leadership and problem-solving skills of the outgoing prefect. He pledged the staff’s full support to Dianda in meeting the objectives set for the special delegation.



Valérie Bama, the outgoing prefect and president of the special delegation, reflected on his tenure, noting the achievements made despite Burkina’s challenging security situation. He extended his gratitude to his superiors, colleagues, civil society organizations, and religious authorities for their support and commitment.



Dianda, in his acceptance speech, expressed gratitude for the trust bestowed upon him by the country’s highest authorities and acknowledged the significant responsibilities of his new position. He appealed for support from the town hall staff, municipal authorities, and his superiors to successfully fulfill his mission.



Sanfiénalé Joseph Sirima, in his closing remarks, acknowledged Bama’s contributions over his 18-month service and wished him success in his future endeavors. Sirima also offered advice to Dianda, highlighting the expectations and challenges that lie ahead in his new role as the leader of Pô’s special delegation.
