BAMAKO — During the second edition of Digital Technology Week in Mali, Amina Zerbo Sabané, Burkinabè Minister in charge of the Digital Economy, highlighted the vital role of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in enhancing the social resilience of populations. The event, which addressed the theme “ICT as a factor of resilience in the face of the multifaceted crisis in the Sahel: opportunity and challenges,” took place in Bamako where the minister shared insights from Burkina Faso’s approach to digital technology.

According to Burkina Information Agency, ICTs contribute significantly to social resilience by providing crucial services that enhance educational access through e-learning, simplify financial transactions via mobile payments, and facilitate remote health services. The technologies also play a crucial role in strengthening social cohesion and improving life quality in both remote and security-challenged areas, added the Minister.
