Houet: The provisional table of jobs and workforce adopted

The Ministry of Transport, Urban Mobility and Road Safety held, on Monday May 15, 2023 in Bobo-Dioulasso, the first ordinary session of its ministerial sector board of directors (CASEM ) of the year 2023.

The Ministerial Sector Board of Directors (CASEM) of the Ministry of Transport, Urban Mobility and Road Safety was in conclave on Monday, May 15, 2023 in Bobo-Dioulasso.

It was on the occasion of its first ordinary session of the year, under the theme: "Resilience of populations to security and humanitarian shocks: what strategies to promote and improve transport services and meet mobility and security needs? populations?

The work thus made it possible to examine and adopt the activity report for the year 2022 and the provisional employment and workforce table (TPEE) of the ministry.

To this is added a presentation of the national strategy for the development of civil aviation and that of urban mobility which enlightened the administrators on the ministry's vision for the development of these two sub-sectors.

To answer the question of the main theme, three sub-themes were addressed during the work.

These are "Air transport in a context of health, security and economic crisis", "Road safety: strengths, weaknesses and prospects for the automotive education system in Burkina Faso", and "Wearing a helmet: challenges and population adhesion strategies”.

For the Minister in charge of Transport, Roland Somda, the choice of Bobo-Dioulasso to hold this CASEM session is part of the dynamics of reviving airport activities, the promotion of urban mobility and road safety in Hauts-Basins.

“This instance gives us the opportunity to carry out an exhaustive evaluation of our intervention during the year 2022 while correcting, improving and innovating for better results,” said Roland Somda.

According to Minister Somda, his department recorded as of December 31, 2022, an overall rate of achievement of its objectives of 72.47%.

"These results are the fruit of the implementation of the actions included in pillar 3 of the Action Plan for Stabilization and Development", he continued.

For an improvement of this performance, Mr. Somda indicated that the mobilization of quality human resources is necessary.

“To do this, the Human Resources Department has drawn up a draft provisional table of jobs and staffing which has been adopted,” he added.

He further acknowledged that the year 2022 has been a difficult year for the Burkinabè transport sector which has suffered and continues to suffer "major" slowdowns due to the dual security and humanitarian crisis and the Russian-Ukrainian war.

According to him, this situation calls for more consultation, reflection and initiatives for better resilience, hence the choice of the theme of this CASEM.

"The theme offers us a framework for exchanges and orientation of our actions with a view to meeting the major challenges and developing resilience actions for greater efficiency in the transport sector", indicated Mr. Somda.

He invited the actors to commit to making the transport sector a resilient and hopeful area despite the multiple shocks it is undergoing.

"The implementation of the commitments made during the session, as indicated by the first official of the transport department, requires the mobilization of all transport development actors", he added.

For him, the conclusions we have reached must be a compass in the effective implementation of future actions and levers for consolidating achievements.
