Bobo-Dioulasso: The district 4 of the commune of Bobo-Dioulasso organized the 3rd edition of the day of excellence on Thursday, November 28, 2024, where several students and teachers were recognized for their outstanding achievements during the 2023-2024 school year. The event aimed to encourage educational excellence within the basic education district (CEB) Bobo 4.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony honored 67 students, 5 teachers, and educational associations with various prizes. Germaine Konaté from Yeleemba school was named best student, achieving an average of 9.35. The award for best CEB student was shared by Ulrich Stéphane Lanfo Zerbo and Akim Sangaré, each with an average of 9.29. Both received school kits, bicycles, dictionaries, and scholarships of 25,000 FCFA.
The best teacher at the CEP for classes with 50 to 75 students was Alidou Ouattara from Ouézzinville ‘G’ school, boasting a 100% success rate. Henriette Kambou from Yéleemba school won for classes with 76 to 99 students
, also achieving a 100% success rate with 93 students. These teachers received motorbikes, certificates, and grants of 50,000 FCFA.
François Borgia Somé from ‘La Réussite’ school was recognized as the best teacher for classes with over 100 students, while Nianssan Gnoumou from ‘La Relève’ school was awarded for classes with fewer than 50 students, both achieving high success rates. These teachers were awarded certificates, grants of 150,000 FCFA, and computers. Sophie Gambo from Ouézzinville ‘G’ was named best school principal.
Balemani Serissouma, president of the special delegation of district 4, highlighted the event’s purpose: to recognize and encourage outstanding teachers and students. He emphasized the importance of the theme, “Excellence, patriotism and citizenship in primary school for a prosperous and sovereign Burkina Faso,” and congratulated all stakeholders for their dedication.
Rasmata Zonon, prefect of the department of Bobo, commended the initiative, stating that it motivates individuals to
achieve even greater success. She praised the tradition of celebrating excellence in the educational community and endorsed the theme’s focus on instilling values in children for a brighter future.
Germaine Konaté, representing the winners, expressed gratitude to district 4 and its partners for organizing the event, acknowledging the support and recognition provided to the educational achievers.
