Hospitals Enhance Training for Internists and Diagnostic Technicians

Luanda: The Implementation Unit of the Health System Resilience Strengthening Project (UIP-PFRHS), in collaboration with the General Hospital of Luanda, is currently working on enhancing the quality of practical training for interns specializing in medical fields, nursing, and technical diagnostics.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the initiative involves a national Immersion activity focused on Pedagogical Management of Internal Rotation in the specialties of medicine, nursing, diagnosis, and therapy. This activity emphasizes improving the training quality for interns through discussions on the national internal rotation model and by providing training in planning, supervision, and evaluation of clinical internships.

The project aims to align training institutions with internship units, promote the sharing of best practices among sector players, and introduce technical tools and international experiences. Jobe Monteiro, coordinator and manager of the Ministry of Health’s staff training project, announced that the project plans to train 38,000 professionals by 2028, including 3,000 in medicine, 9,000 in nursing, another 9,000 in therapeutic techniques, and 4,000 in both the general regime and hospital management.

The event saw the participation of pedagogical directors from national and provincial general hospitals, targeting the enhancement of health training management skills.
