Holistic Counselling and Training Consult Honors 30 Graduates in Accra Ceremony

ACCRA – Holistic Counselling and Training Consult celebrated the graduation of 30 students at a ceremony in Accra. The graduates, a mix of online and weekend students, received Lay Practitioner certificates in Counselling and Psychology.

According to a new release by the Ghana News Agency, Apostle James Kofi Abbrey, Founder of the Consult, stated that the organization was established on March 20, 2016, through various outreach methods, including word of mouth, social media, and other media platforms. Abbrey underscored the high demand for empathic and skilled counsellors in today’s society, marked by ongoing changes and mounting challenges.

Speaking under the theme ‘Navigating Minds: Empowering the Future,’ Apostle Abbrey emphasized the unique ability of counsellors to uplift individuals and communities. He urged the graduates to navigate complexities and contribute to the richness of life. He assured them of the support of their loved ones, mentors, and the broader counselling community as they move forward in their careers.

Rev. Dr. Dinah Baah-Odoom, Registrar of the Ghana Psychology Council, also addressed the gathering. She stressed the importance of understanding and supporting the human mind and highlighted the transformative impact counsellors can have on others’ lives. Baah-Odoom, also a Reverend Minister of the Methodist Church of Ghana, called for collaboration between counsellors and other professionals in the field of applied psychology.

Mrs. Agnes Kyerewaa Oppong, the valedictorian for the 2023 batch, thanked the management of Holistic Counselling and Training Consult for their guidance and coaching. Speaking on behalf of her fellow graduates, she committed to adhering to the code of ethics and striving for excellence in the field of counselling in Ghana.
