Hola Nutrition Programme to Combat Malnutrition in Children and Pregnant Women

Tana River: Tana River Sub County Children's officer Ms. Maria Mbote announced that 3,000 families would benefit from the Nutrition programme aimed at combating malnutrition in children and pregnant women in Galole and Garsen Constituencies.

According to Kenya News Agency, the Cash Transfer and Health Education (NICHE) programme targets children under three years of age and pregnant women within households benefiting from the Inua Jamii Cash Transfer programme. Ms. Mbote emphasized that 3,000 families in each household would receive an additional Sh500 to Sh1000, supplementing the monthly stipend provided by the Inua Jamii programme.

Ms. Mbote also highlighted that the Inua Jamii programme delivers monthly cash transfers to vulnerable families, including the elderly, orphans, people with disabilities, and those affected by drought.
