Historian Sinvula Laid to Rest in Ikumwe

Ikumwe: Historian Francis Mabuku Sinvula, affectionately known as ‘Ba Mars’, was laid to rest on Thursday in his hometown of Ikumwe, located in the Katima Rural Constituency. Sinvula passed away last Thursday at the age of 67, leaving behind a legacy cherished by many who knew him.



According to Namibia Press Agency, the funeral was a week-long event that drew numerous speakers who praised Sinvula’s contributions to his community and his memorable character. The funeral was not only a time of mourning but also a celebration of a life well-lived, despite being cut short. Sinvula was remembered as a beloved father figure and a dedicated educator who committed his time to the betterment of his students.



In addition to his work in the classroom, Sinvula was known for sharing his wisdom with people of all ages outside of school. His ability to tell stories and bring joy to those around him left a lasting impact. One blogger noted on social media that Sinvula possessed a unique gift for storytelling and humor, creating a legacy that will endure within his family and beyond.



Sinvula is survived by his wife Alphonsina, their three children, and seven grandchildren, who continue to uphold his cherished memory.
