Koudougou: The Permanent Secretary for Labor-Intensive Road Works (SP-THRIMO), Captain Ollo Palenfo, commenced a field visit in Koudougou to support brigadiers involved in the rehabilitation of the city’s evacuation canals.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Captain Palenfo, joined by the President of the Communal Special Delegation (PDS) Jonas Man©, the Regional Mission Officer at the Presidency of Faso Florent Neya, and other colleagues, met with the brigadiers engaged in the canal rehabilitation efforts. The brigade, predominantly composed of women, received commendations from Captain Kambou for their dedicated work in cleaning, clearing, and maintaining the drainage systems.

The brigade demonstrated resilience as they lifted slabs, wielded shovels, and employed various tools to eliminate waste and clear blockages. During the visit, the delegation inspected several crucial sites, taking the opportunity to educate local residents about the importance of responsible public space usage.

Offenders were questioned about their civic responsibilities in maintaining gutter cleanliness, which is vital for ensuring proper water flow. The PDS, Jonas Man©, emphasized that these efforts are an urgent response to the environmental challenges facing Koudougou.

Mr. Man© also extended his gratitude to the government for this social initiative and committed to enhancing monitoring efforts with technical services to preserve these improvements, which aim to elevate the quality of life for residents. The initiative plans to clean over 20 kilometers of linear gutters.
