Djibo: The High Commissioner of the Soum province, Wend-Nere Wilfried Tougma, visited the central market of Djibo to raise awareness among traders about the importance of maintaining fair pricing and curbing speculative practices during ongoing socio-economic challenges.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the High Commissioner was accompanied by the president of the special delegation of the commune of Djibo, Mr. Hubert Drabo, alongside police and gendarmerie officials. Together, they met with traders, urging them to adopt responsible behaviors to support the community.
Mr. Wend-Nere Wilfried Tougma called on traders to put an end to clandestine home sales and price speculation on essential goods. He emphasized the importance of demonstrating patriotism, humanism, and solidarity by implementing social tariffs to ease the burden on the population during this crisis.
Mr. Hubert Drabo, president of the special delegation of the commune of Djibo, highlighted the need for community solidarity and cooperation, urging everyone to contribute to preserving social cohesion.
Defense and security forces announced plans for rigorous controls to ensure market transparency and strict adherence to established prices. Traders expressed their support for the dialogue initiated by the High Commissioner and committed to prioritizing the public interest and the dignity of all.
