Fada n'gourma: The High Commissioner of the Gourma province, Silas Nacanabo, urged public officials during the traditional raising of the national colors in Fada N'Gourma to show loyalty to their hierarchical superiors and fully commit to their tasks. The ceremony was part of efforts to bolster civic-mindedness and patriotism within the public administration, gathering officials from decentralized state services and defense and security forces.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the High Commissioner emphasized that the raising of the colors is a mandatory practice for the public administration, crucial for reinforcing cohesion among state services. Nacanabo highlighted that the province, representing the State at the local level, must honor national symbols diligently.
Mr. Nacanabo explained that this ceremony at the provincial level aims to strengthen relations among administrative officials and promote collaboration between different services. "This is an opportunity for us to see each other, get to know each other, and strengthen working relationships," he said.
The province's top official also emphasized the need for public officials to demonstrate loyalty to their superiors and commit fully to their duties. He pointed out that loyalty and determination are vital for the smooth functioning of public administration and the quality of service provided to the public.
Mr. Nacanabo underscored the importance of ethics in public services, urging agents to serve users with professionalism and integrity, avoiding practices contrary to public service principles. He called on agents to provide timely services without requiring users to resort to indirect means, emphasizing responsibility and respect in treating citizens.
During the meeting, the Secretary General of the Gourma province, Botetessan Bonou, provided updates on ongoing initiatives, including the provincial services' contribution to the 'Faso Mªbo' initiative. He noted that several departments have already responded by mobilizing contributions and invited other structures to participate in the collective effort.
The ceremony concluded with information on planned activities for Women's Month in the Goulmou region, including conferences, panels, and commemorative activities around March 8th. The next flag-raising ceremony for the constituted bodies of the Gourma province is scheduled for April 2nd at the gendarmerie in Fada N'Gourma.
