High Commissioner Urges Caution and Vigilance During Ioba’s End-of-Year Celebrations

Ioba: The High Commissioner urges the population to be cautious at the end of the year: On the occasion of the raising of the national colors, on Monday, December 1, the High Commissioner of the Ioba province, Innocents Ouattara, invited the population to be more cautious during the end-of-year holidays.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Ioba Provincial Directorate of the National Police (DPPN) hosted the final monthly flag-raising ceremony of 2025 in the province. The head of Ioba, Innocents Ouattara, urged residents to remain cautious while driving during this festive period. "I ask you to remind your loved ones to respect the highway code to avoid potential traffic accidents," he advised.

Mr. Ouattara also called for vigilance during this period of increasing urban insecurity. He reiterated the continuation of the 'Deme Sira' solidarity campaign launched in Ouagadougou on November 14, 2025. According to him, the donation box was in Dano from November 25 to 30, but contributions will continue until January 31, 2026. The High Commissioner urged the various institutions to organize themselves to mobilize sufficient donations to make Ioba the leading province in the Dj´r´ region in terms of contributions.

He commended the work done by the defense and security forces (FDS). "This morning, I want to pay tribute to them. It is thanks to their determination that the entire provincial territory is secure," he stated. The High Commissioner called for the full cooperation of the population with the FDS to better ensure the protection of people and property.

The provincial director of the National Police in Ioba, Chief Commissioner Souleymane Zouri, presented the directorate, its affiliated services, and their missions. He announced the relocation of the Dano Central Police Station to the premises of the recently demobilized territorial gendarmerie brigade.

Mr. Zouri also offered some precautions to be taken as the end-of-year holidays approach: "Do not leave your valuables outside, make sure to lock your homes securely, and do not leave any objects in your yard that could be used for assault," he advised.

The Secretary General of the Dano Town Hall, Elisee Bambara, informed the participants about the upcoming activities to mark the 30th anniversary of the Municipal Police. A fun run is scheduled for Thursday, December 4th, at 6:30 a.m., starting from the Dano Town Hall.

The representative of the Postal Bank of Burkina Faso informed the various bodies of the opening of a cash point at the SONAPOST post office in Dano. As for the focal point for the universal health insurance scheme, Flavien Yanogo, he reminded everyone that the census of participating workers is continuing until December 31, 2025, at the High Commission in Dano.

The High Commissioner of the Ioba, Innocents Ouattara, expressed his satisfaction and gratitude for the remarkable mobilization of the constituted bodies to honor the national colors.
