High Commissioner Urges Bam Students to Uphold Patriotic Values After Training

Bam: The High Commissioner of Bam Province, Karim Ou©draogo, invited students who participated in civic and patriotic training on Thursday evening to make the values learned a permanent guide to their behavior, during the closing ceremony held at the Provincial High School of Kongoussi. The training took place from January 15 to February 14, 2026, involving 9,369 students from intermediate classes, trained at nine sites across Bam province, thanks to the voluntary commitment of 52 civilian trainers and 82 trainers from the Defense and Security Forces (FDS). Addressing the participants, the provincial authority reminded them that the past thirty days were a time for training, not entertainment.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the lessons learned should translate into the promotion of probity, integrity, civic-mindedness, solidarity, and mutual support within families, schools, and society. Mr. Ou©draogo stressed that the initiative is part of the dynamic driven by the highest authorities of the country, aimed at strengthening human capital in order to build a new Burkina Faso. He praised the commitment of the civilian supervisors and the security forces, who were able to instill good values in the students.

The provincial director of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training in Bam, Midon Coulibaly, expressed gratitude to the provincial authorities and partners for their support. He emphasized that this initiative helps to instill in learners a sense of discipline, patriotism, and responsibility. "We want disciplined, responsible students who are deeply committed to the values of the Nation," he said.

The student representative, Issouf Boly, expressed the learners' gratitude to the civilian and military supervisors for the lessons received during the training. He also stated that the students are committed to putting into practice the values of discipline, respect, and patriotism they have learned, in order to be responsible citizens in service to the Nation.
