High Commissioner Sadou Sakira Visits K©n©dougou to Review Forest Seedling Production for 2026 Reforestation

K©n©dougou: The High Commissioner of the K©n©dougou province, Sadou Sakira, paid a visit this Friday to the Provincial Directorate of Water and Forests to inquire about the progress of the production of seedlings intended for the 2026 national reforestation campaign.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the visit allowed the provincial authorities to observe the efforts made by the forestry services in preparing for this important environmental campaign. Officials from the provincial water and forestry department reported that approximately 26,000 seedlings of various species have already been produced to contribute to reforestation and the restoration of vegetation cover in the province.

At the end of the visit, High Commissioner Sadou Sakira commended the commitment and professionalism of the Forestry and Water Resources agents. He encouraged them to continue their efforts to achieve the objectives set for the 2026 reforestation campaign.

He also stressed the importance of preserving natural resources and combating environmental degradation, calling for increased mobilization of all stakeholders.

The Provincial Director of Water and Forests, Idrissa Sanou, expressed his gratitude to the administrative authorities for their support. He also requested increased support from technical and financial partners to enhance seedling production capacity and improve the results of future reforestation campaigns.
