Ouagadougou: The High Commissioner of Namentenga Province, Adama Conseiga, chaired the first session of the consultation framework in Boulsa. The meeting assembled communicators from decentralized state services, representatives of public and private media outlets, and digital stakeholders to discuss the media's role in national efforts, social cohesion, and development.

According to Burkina Information Agency, High Commissioner Adama Conseiga highlighted that local media outlets are not yet fully utilizing their resources-papers, cameras, microphones, and national languages-to effectively contribute to the reconquest of national territory, the consolidation of peace, social cohesion, and development.

"It is based on this observation that the Regional Directorate of Communication, Culture, Arts, and Tourism (DRCCAT) of Kouls initiated a consultation framework bringing together communication officers from decentralized and deconcentrated state services, heads of public and private media outlets, and activists, in order to exchange best practices that can contribute to the reconquest of territory, the promotion of social cohesion, and development through their various channels," explained Ahmed Oudraogo, Provincial Director of Communication, Culture, Arts, and Tourism (DPCCAT) of Sandbondtenga.

On this occasion, two presentations were delivered by Isma«l Diloma Sirima from the Directorate of Communication, Media and Public Relations, focusing on communication by local authorities and decentralized state services, and the synergy between the press and institutions in crisis situations.

The discussions also centered on defining the concepts of influencer, activist, and whistleblower. Participants recommended formalizing this framework for dialogue.

The provincial director of Communication, Culture, Arts, and Tourism, Touwendinda Francis Sakand, welcomed this first session in Namentenga, believing the meeting's objectives were achieved.

The provincial director of the CCAT of Sandbondtenga, Ahmed Oudraogo, on behalf of the DRCCAT, expressed gratitude to the High Commissioner for his availability and to the participants for the quality of the discussions.

High Commissioner Adama Conseiga congratulated the regional director of Communication, Culture, Arts, and Tourism of Kouls, Safiata Oubda, for this initiative. He urged the media to practice their profession professionally to promote peace, social cohesion, and development, while recommending that media actors from other municipalities in the region also benefit from this training.
