High Commissioner of Nahouri Stresses Technical Quality in P´ Dam Project

Nahouri: The High Commissioner of Nahouri Province, Si© Aristide Mohamed Kam, along with the President of the Special Delegation of the P´ Commune, Ilassa Dianda, visited the construction site of the P´ dam located in Sector 1. During the visit on January 17, 2026, Kam emphasized the importance of meeting deadlines and ensuring the technical quality of the project to prevent flooding issues during future rainy seasons.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the visit by the High Commissioner and the President of the Special Delegation was intended to motivate the personnel responsible for the P´ dam construction. The project is being executed by the National Office for Dams and Hydro-Agricultural Development (ONBAH), and it highlights the significant role of water management in the P´ Commune and the broader Nahouri Province.

The dam construction in Sector 1 is a component of the national initiative aimed at achieving food sovereignty. It seeks to fulfill the increasing needs of the urban and peri-urban populations of the P´ Commune, who have consistently prioritized this project in discussions with relevant authorities.

High Commissioner Kam reiterated the necessity of adhering to deadlines and maintaining the technical quality to avert potential flooding during the forthcoming rainy seasons. Project managers Hubert Sanou and Yanick Ouedraogo expressed that the visit served as an encouragement to all teams involved in the project. They assured that the infrastructure would be completed within the specified timeframe.

At the conclusion of the visit, Sanou and Ouedraogo conveyed their commitment to supporting the project teams and raising awareness among the local population to garner their support for the initiative.
