Kouritenga: The High Commissioner of Kouritenga Province, Moctar Ilboudo, launched a civic and patriotic education program for middle school students at Kourita High School in Koup©la. He emphasized the importance of diligent attendance in the classes provided.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the launch event was attended by members of the provincial education coordination team, the Defense and Security Forces, and the students. This program follows the first edition of the patriotic immersion program for new high school graduates and has been expanded to include all students in Burkina Faso. The initiative is set to occur in six-week training sessions.
Middle school students in grades 6 through 11 will benefit from this civic and patriotic education program. The first phase began on December 13, 2025, involving students from several schools, including Kourita High School, Koup©la Municipal High School, Wend Yam Private High School, and Philadelphie Private High School in Koup©la.
A total of 11,260 students, comprising 4,697 boys and 6,563 girls, will participate in the program, which aims to instill civic and patriotic values. Dieudonn© Belemsigri, the provincial director of secondary education for Kouritenga, noted that 27 out of 113 schools in the province were selected for this phase.
Moctar Ilboudo highlighted the program's objective of instilling essential values in students. He stated that the program would focus on values such as environmental citizenship and solidarity, which are crucial for Burkina Faso's strength and pride.
Students expressed their appreciation for the initiative, finding it timely and pledging to complete the program. Banhoro Mounira, a 10th-grade student, voiced gratitude for the opportunity, noting the significance of learning more about their country.
